Many people dream about a life as a trader, however just as many try and fail.

The biggest problem I see is that new traders are simply looking at the wrong thing – combined with having the wrong mindset.

There’s just so much information around, that its really easy to get ‘overloaded’.

I know when I first started learning about trading that’s how I felt.

So don’t get me wrong here, trading is tough. You really need to be mentally strong and highly determined to succeed.

However for the new traders out there it’s even harder because there are literally too many things to take in and try and learn all at once.

I was really lucky. I learnt to trade though a trading program at a Prop Shop.

While it too was incredibly challenging, the biggest advantage I had was getting told what to look at.

Once I started to get a better understanding of how the professionals went about their business, I very rapidly improved and that trading mountain, looked a lot easier to climb.

So my first piece of advice is to open up your DOM and start watching it. That’s the starting point for a successful trading career.

You can make it as a trader, no doubt it’s tough, but if you start looking for trades in the right place it will make your task 1000 times easier.
